Outdoor Hunting Gear

Hunting seasons change with the change of the weather each year but the one thing that stays the same is the type of outdoor hunting gear hunters will need for their hunting trip. Hunting trips can last one day, an entire weekend, or even for an entire week. The length of the trip and where the trip occurs all depends on the likes and dislikes of the hunter. This article will detail the hunting gear needed for a hunting trip, no matter how long the trip will last, and this includes hunting bags to help store and carry all of your hunting gear from the vehicle to the place where you are staying during the trip.

One of the most important items needed for a hunting trip is a first aid kit. Since safety is the number one priority during a hunting trip, a fully stocked first aid kit should always be first on your packing list. The first aid kit and the supplies inside the kit could help save your life should you be injured during the trip. The items in the first aid kit should be bandages, medical tape, stitches, scissors, a knife, gauze and any other items you feel are necessary to carry with you.

Now, the items necessary for the hunting to take place include the following:

*Compass
*Maps of hunting area
*Guns with ammunition
*Hunting bag
*Clothing
*Food
*Traps and bait
*Binoculars (do not have to be expensive)
*Cotton game bag
*Large knife for skinning the game
*Small Swiss Army knife
*Strong nylon string
*Saw
*Garbage bags
*Sleeping bag
*Hand warmers
*Hot drinks
*Stove
*Charcoal
*Lighter fluid
*Lighter
*Safety harness for hunting in a tree
*Flashlight
*Range finder
*Spotting scope
*Tent

The best way to transport all of this gear is by using hunting bags, which can be purchased on the internet or in a local hunting supply store. The hunting bags can be purchased in different sizes; it all depends on how much gear you need to fit in those bags for the trip. Purchasing multiple bags at once for the trip is also an excellent idea. Hunting bags will not cost too much money but they will set you back a couple of dollars. A hunting trip can be expensive if you purchase all of the gear at once. The hobby can be affordable if you purchase gear at different times of the year or the hunting season so you do not spend all of your money at once. Setting aside money for a hunting trip is the best way to plan it, especially if you will be traveling a couple of hundred miles away from home. You will need money for gasoline on the trip to the hunting grounds and for the return trip home from the excursion. Double and triple check your outdoor hunting gear packing list before leaving home.

Overnight Hunting Gear

There are certain essential items that are required for any overnight hunting trip. Some hunting trips are longer than others, but no matter how long you are planning to hunt, certain things are going to be necessary. Below we will take a look at some of the hunting gear you will need to take on your overnight trip.

The Basics

Regardless of the length of your trip, there are certain things you're going to need to have with you. Safety is one of the first things you want to consider when putting together your overnight hunting gear. For this reason, first aid supplies are going to be near the top of the list. If you sustain an injury, it could end up saving your life.

If you're staying for the night, eventually you're going to get hungry. Your overnight hunting gear should include some type of cookware to prepare meals. There are various types of lightweight cookware that can easily be packed into any standard backpack.

The materials these items are made of these days makes them very light and easy to clean. You're there to hunt, not spend all day scouring and scrubbing pots and pans.

Obviously, your clothing is a major consideration as well. You need to make sure that you dress appropriately for the conditions you will be encountering. You should have clothing that is light enough for when you are on the move, but heavy enough to keep you warm at night. You'll want to dress in layers so you can adjust for the conditions at any given time.

Speaking of staying warm at night, your overnight hunting gear should include a good sleeping bag. Since you can't be sure exactly what the weather will bring, make sure you select a bag that is rated well below the temperature you will likely be dealing with.

Your overnight hunting gear should also include some type of shelter to protect you from the elements.

A one or two man tent would be a good choice. If snow and ice are in the forecast, make sure your tent is domed so it slides off instead of caving in your ceiling.

With the exception of your firearm, you'll need something to carry all of your overnight hunting gear in. There are a number of lightweight and durable backpacks on the market that are perfect for this purpose. Make sure it's large enough for all of your supplies and still light enough to carry around all day.

Any time you are planning a single night hunting trip, the key is to pack as light as you can while still bringing along all of the things that you will need. With the proper overnight hunting gear, your trip will be rewarding and enjoyable.

Backpacking MY FOUR DAY SET-UP.wmv

Showing what I take in my lightweight set up which is almost, but not quite, an ultralight backpacking system. Base weight is eleven lbs. Packed and ready to hike, with food and water, is about twenty-four lbs.. I've dropped a pound over last years gear but it still isn't an ultralight set up, strickly speaking. I didn't show my water filter as it died on my last outing. I have to save for a new one. Some may think I take an excessive amount of water but I live in desert country. Even the mountains, nearby, have little water in them.

Kampa Tent

Get a Great Deal From Amazon UK www.amazon.co.uk Customer Reviews: "We were looking for a weekender tent and as we like the vis a vis concept this tent was amongst the top of the list.We bought it at a reduced price from 129 to 89, we currently own an Outwell, Wynnster, Khyam and Lichfield and haven't previously owned a Kampa tent but this tent surpassed all our expectations in a budget tent and quality wise was on a par with the Outwell and I wouldn't be surprised if Kampas high end tents were better! It is a small tent and thats what it is sold as we bought it for 1-2 night camping and for that it is ideal. Obviously there isn't much storage and the bedroom pods are 'comfortable' for 2 adults, ideally it would best suit a couple and you could use the other pod for storage OR like we did remove one pod and use as an extra living area. It would be small for a 2+2 family although we are aa 2+1 child + 2 small dogs it suits us.My husband timed me and it took me a total of 14minutes to pitch it AND peg it out, it really is that simple and its based on the ring and pin system with tension straps. It has 2 entrance doors both with attached window blinds to roll up, it also comes with porch poles however we haven't used them yet. It doesn't have secondary mesh doors on the outer doors only the bedroom pods (so don't get confused with the description). It also comes with a fully sewn in groundsheet which I've never known on a small vis a vis and its perfect although as previous ...
